BARISTA:

How often will I receive jobs? You will receive all jobs as they become available. The barista accepted for the job will depend on location, availability, skills suited to the cafe.

I have a friend who also wants to become a BB, can they join? YES! Get them to register through the site
If I have to cancel a job, who do I contact first? The cafe! Then contact Backup Barista, but contact both.
What do I do if a cafe contacts me directly after a shift with BB? When they log a job, they can ask for you. We will then contact you directly for the job.

CAFE:

How do I submit a job? Through the website.
How quick are jobs filled? Once the job is sent out, typically within 1 hour you will have a barista matched and confirmed via sms.
If the barista doesn't turn up, or my job is not filled, what happens? You will receive a full refund or you can keep a credit to use the service next time.
Can I contact the barista outside of the platform? Yes, but you will still need to log the job online. ALL JOBS must be put through online. You can request certain baristas when submitting a job. We are trying to support the cafes and can continue this with your support.
Can I hire the barista after meeting them through BB? Yes, this will incur a $250 release fee. This is for FT or PT or Casual
How do I know the barista is going to actually be good enough? We have a very tough screening process. Whilst we cannot promise they will be the absolute perfect fit, they will strive to adapt as quickly as possible. If you aren't happy with the backup provided, contact Backup Barista within 24hrs of the shift for a full refund/credit on act.
I need someone long term, is this possible? YES! You can post a job on the notice board here
